What is a QR Literature Quest?

The overall purpose of a QR Lit Quest is to encourage high school students to challenge themselves by reading books from College Bound Reading lists.

A QR quest is a high-tech scavenger hunts using QR codes and mobile phones. Students begin the Quest in the library, where they scan a QR code that displays the locations of 5 other QR Codes.

Most phones with a camera can use QR apps, but in many cases it is also necessary to have an Internet plan. This activity does not require one to have Internet access on the phone as all of the QR codes display text messages instead of Web pages.

A librarian or teacher that wishes to set up an activity needs a QR code generator. There are many available on the Internet, including the QR generator I used for this Literature Quest.
